One of these is an asset you build and the other is inventory you consume, and they fail in opposite ways.

What a lead-capture platform does

This category gives you an IDX website, capture forms, a CRM and automation, then expects you to drive traffic to it — usually through paid advertising, sometimes through content and referrals.

When it works it compounds. Traffic you earn once keeps producing enquiries, and the database you build becomes more valuable every year you keep it clean.

Its pricing, contract terms and included services are its own to publish.

What it costs to get there

Time, mostly, and advertising spend. The platform does not generate leads on its own; it converts traffic you supply, and buying that traffic is a skill of its own with its own learning curve.

The first months are frequently the worst months, which is exactly when a new agent can least afford a dry pipeline.

Buying leads has no such curve. It also builds no asset — stop buying and the flow stops the same day.

How to sequence them

If you can afford only one right now, buy conversations. A platform with no traffic is an expense with no output.

Build the compounding asset once the business is producing, and treat bought leads as the thing that keeps the phone ringing while it matures.

Judge the platform on your database in two years. Judge bought leads on cost per closed transaction this quarter. Using either metric on the other will mislead you.

Questions people ask

Will buying leads hurt my own marketing?

No. They are separate sources and the leads you buy are exclusive to you, so there is no overlap with enquiries your own site generates.

Is there a minimum spend?

No. You can buy a single lead and stop. That is deliberately different from a platform relationship, which is a commitment by design.

What happens if I pause?

Nothing is lost. Leads you have bought stay yours, and any unused balance stays on the account.

Not affiliated. Real Geeks is a trademark of its owner. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or partnered with Real Geeks, and this page describes the two business models rather than that company’s current features or pricing — check www.realgeeks.com for those.
